A group of Turangi residents opposed to the sale of synthetic cannabis have won a week long battle to get the town’s sole supplier to withdraw all stocks of the party drug from sale – with some help from a good samaritan.
The protest action led to convenience store owner Sanjay Malaviya returning 60 per cent of the stock to two main suppliers who agreed to take it back and refund him the money.
