My son Ryan is almost 25. He started smoking spice a year ago. I started researching the drug then. I have friends that work in emergency rooms & they tell me there is nothing to counteract this deadly drug.
They had to watch a 23-year-old boy die from this stuff. Another boy came in, that was in frenzy, so they had to tie him down to the bed, his body went limp & he went into a coma, died shortly after that. I told my son those stories but had no effect on him.
The first thing I notice about this drug with my son is it slows down his kidneys along with bursts of anger & not making sense, repetition of same things. I put him in a detox program in May 2016. He stayed in that program all summer.
I then put him in another program because his insurance wouldn’t pay for the detox. They put him out on the street with nowhere to go. He stayed in a homeless shelter for a few weeks. I then found a bed in a sober house.
He got kicked out of that for failing K2 drug tests. He lies about everything; I can’t trust him to visit me & my husband who’s been like a father to him at my house because we don’t know what state of mind he’s going to be.
My son found a room to rent in a friend’s apartment. He also has a boyfriend now. I went to this apartment to drop my son’s laptop off. I saw a vial of yellow liquid on my son’s table, so I picked it up & looked at it. It had a cloud on it with happy juice written on it.
I thought that was strange for a flavor, so when I got home I looked it up on the internet & it’s K2. I also thought it was weird that my son would hit his vape & then light a cigarette after. I asked him if that vape had nicotine in it, he gave me a strange look & said no. My son is very strongly addicted to Spice.
I’m at a loss as to what I can do. My husband & I have helped him with a lot & we can’t do it anymore. I’ve called people to get my son treatment, but no one is there for any help. All beds are full, or we don’t take that insurance. How can we get people that are strongly addicted to this drug any help if no one can do that?
I predict that my son will either have a violent seizure & fall into a coma or just collapse & die within the next six months. This drug seeps out the pores, so someone that does it will have a smell of body odor mixed with incense.
