I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO QUIT SMOKING SPICE AND GET MY LIFE BACK! HERES HOW I DID IT! PLEASE READ IF YOU FEEL THERE IS NO HOPE! IM LIVING PROOF THERE IS!
Back when spice AKA K2 was legal and being sold in the smoke shops locally, i tried it a few times and it was never really my thing because I always preferred weed and saw no sense in doing it. It made me edgy, nervous, even hallucinate at times. Now, about 5 years later, its illegal and I cant smoke weed. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CHEMICALS THEY USED IN THE STUFF BACK THEN ARE NOT THE SAME AS THEY ARE NOW. The labs cannot keep up with the constantly changing ingredients and chemicals in spice, so its really hard to know what you are ever really getting….anyways, some of my friends were smoking it on a regular basis but I never wanted to because it gave me such shitty effects back in the day….well one day I was feeling down and out so I gave in and smoked some with a friend. It was pretty mellow, and felt almost like I was high on weed.
WORST DECISION EVER!
Because it made me feel relaxed and mellow, I bought some the next day. I wouldnt need but a couple of hits to keep me high and I didnt even smoke (at this point) because of being addicted (because I wasnt yet) But what I didnt realize is that my body was building a tolerance to it, which in return, was making me not only smoke more, but buy more as well.
I smoked spice for about 4-5 months on an everyday basis. Let me break it down:
I went from smoking less than a gram a day, to smoking 2-4 4 gram bags everyday….so you can see how quickly my tolerance to the stuff rose.
After 6 months, I realized that it had not only lost my job (due to not being able to get up in the morning without any, therefore not making it to work in time), but i became completely distant from life. I hibernated inside and I had to be high 24/7. I had NO life. All i cared about was getting money for another bag.
One day I woke up and felt sick as hell…i thought “oh i just need to smoke” so I did, and i still felt like death was upon me…I had the stomach flu. Now, at this point, I had already considered quitting multiple times (but if you are anything like me, never really tried following through with it due to self doubt) I decided that since I was already sick with the flu, I could just quit that day and go through the withdraws while I was already sick. 2ND WORST DECISION EVER! It made my withdrawal symptoms 10X worse. I was constantly sweating and throwing up, going from hot to cold and I couldnt sleep or get comfortable….I gave in.
The only thing that seemed to help that day was laying in a luke warm shower. (I advise this if you ever get any kind of sick, it eases the nausea) But I knew I wanted to quit. It was controlling me. After my experience that day, it scared me to ever try to stop again. I couldnt confide in anyone for fear they wouldnt understand…thats when I found this site. I began doing research about how others got off the stuff.
THIS IS HOW I QUIT SMOKING SPICE:
1. DO NOT stop cold turkey- you will only feel horrible and it turn, make you want to smoke and give you doubt
2. ONLY smoke a very small amount when you begin to feel too sick…For example…I would smoke a hitter every time I got nauseous and soon I was only smoking about every few hours, then a few times a day, then soon not at all! (NOTE: this method will probably only work if you are REALLY serious about quitting! It worked for me so dont give up and remember, its MIND OVER MATTER! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!)
3. Use a tranquilizer or muscle relaxant to help you sleep. (I used trazedone but you can use flexeril or something else you might have prescribed to you by your doctor to help induce sleep)
4. SALTINE CRACKERS and WATER WATER WATER!!!!
NOTE: you probably wont be able to eat much for about a week but your appetite will slowly come back and theres not much you can do about this but wait it out and try to find something you can stand.
I really hope this helps…
Its January 3rd 2015 and I’ve been clean since Dec. 17th 2014.
Take my advice, these methods worked for me and i’m confident they can work for you too. I was once hopeless, but you can do anything you put your mind to.
