My son is a college athlete and is 18 years old. He was visiting home for the holidays. The very next day, Dec. 22nd, I found out my son had taken off his shirt and jumped on a moving train for no reason at all.
He arrived home after his father, and I looked for him for at least an hour. As soon as he walked in, I could tell something was wrong. His eyes were very red and widely bucked. He continuously asked what time it was and said “Hi Mom, Hi dad” every 2-3 minutes.
I immediately called for an ambulance, besides a fast heart rate his vitals were fine and I could not get him committed to the hospital by ambulance. An officer told me about contacting the crisis center which I did.
They sent me to drop my son off at a mental facility. This had to be the worst day of my life; it was devastating.
I cried all the way home and for the next three days….straight. How could such a kind, smart and athletic kid all of a sudden have mental health issues with no history at all?
Thank god he had a doctor who had seen this numerous times before asked me if he smoked synthetic weed and I told them no. My son was bewildered, repetitive and a bit agitated for a few days. He began to come to about 4-5 days of being there.
He admitted to me that he thinks they laced a marijuana blunt with the K2 synthetic weed at a kickback party he was at, at school. And that was the missing piece. He was released after seven days and has fully recovered thanks to God’s grace and mercy.
I will spend my life spreading the ill effects of this drug to any and everyone who has ears. This drug can ruin lives and can cause irreversible behaviors and consequences.
Please spread the word, especially to the youth that you know. Synthetic marijuana can ruin your life and cause permanent damage.
